KJP leader seeks resignation of sugar factory president

KJP leader Subhash Kallur and former president of Bidar Sahakari Sakkare Karakhane has urged the State government to take over the management of the factory and pay off arrears of sugarcane farmers.

“The present management headed by Sanjay Kheny has failed to run the factory properly. This is because of the indifference of Mr. Kheny and his cousin, MLA Ashok Kheny, towards the problems of farmers. The factory owes Rs. 25 crore to farmers,” Mr. Kallur alleged.

He sought the resignation of Sanjay Kheny and other members of the board of directors.

Mr. Kheny had announced his resignation on August 28 but did not act upon it.

Mr. Kallur said before the assembly elections, Ashok Kheny had promised to release a Rs. 100 crore grant to the factory, but now claimed it would be against the law.

He refuted the allegations made by the cousins that he had mismanaged the factory’s finances by appointing several new employees.

“I have only regularised the services of 450 employees,” Mr. Kallur said.
